Are you in Portland and want to feel like you’re in Paris? Head to NW and find yourself at the Patisserie Cafe, Nuvrei in the heart of the Pearl District in Portland OR. This little cafe is lovely and filled with delicious coffee, salads+sandwiches and yummy treats. They are well known for their decadent and beautifully crafted 12 flavored Parisian macarons.
French macarons are decorated throughout Nuvrei. They are featured in the flower boxes, wreaths, and dangling from the ceiling. Overall the atmosphere is very inviting and fresh. Seating and space is limited, but it gives this cafe a cozy feeling.
Before you order, you get to see all the lovely baked goods Nuvrei has to offer. The macarons are placed convenient and dangerously to the right of the register. Take a look.
Once my friend, Dinesh and I ordered we sat at two bar seats by the window. It was nice being able to look out onto the street on a rare sunny day in Portland during the winter. We ordered four Parisian macarons, one chocolate croissant and two lattes. It was a perfect afternoon “pick me up.”
Overall I liked Nuvrei and its cute and delicious treats. The staff was a little unfriendly and were not so keen when I asked them if I could take pictures for a “Restaurant Review.” But overall it is a great place to come and treat yourself for some Parisian snacks and coffee.
